Brief CV

Andreas Oberweis is full Professor for Applied Informatics since 2003 at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. From 1995 to 2003 he was full Professor for Development of Information Systems at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt/Main. His research interests include Business Process Engineering, Software Engineering, Distributed Information Systems, Digital Libraries, eCollaboration and Distance Learning. He is author and co-author of over 100 papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings, and monographs as well as author and co-editor of 17 books on several topics of applied informatics.

Among several other activities he was Co-Founder of PROMATIS software GmbH, Ettlingen (1990), of the Virtual Global University Frankfurt/Oder (2001), of CODATA Germany e.V., Berlin (2004), of Asero GmbH, Ettlingen (2008), and of Horus software GmbH, Ettlingen (2009). Besides the below-listed positions and activities he served as program committee or organization committee chair for several national and international conferences (e.g., CAiSE 1999, Informatik 2003, CODATA 2003, Wirtschaftsinformatik 2007, SIGSAND Europe 2008). He is member in the Editorial Boards of “WIRTSCHAFTSINFORMATIK”, “Int. Journal of Information Systems and e-Business Management”, “Int. Journal of Business Information Systems” and “Enterprise Modelling and Information Systems Architectures”.

Besides the below-listed positions Andreas Oberweis was member of the Managing Committee (2004-2005), Vice-President and member of the Board of Directors (2006-2009) of Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI). Since 2004 he is member of the CODATA Managing Committee. Currently, he is Vice-Dean of the Department of Economics and Business Engineering and Vice-Spokesman of the Competence-Field "Organisation and Service Engineering" at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
